The Lord's Church

One of the most foundational concepts that must be grasped when considering "the church" is to recognize that it belongs to Jesus Christ. This ought to be something that is firmly understood based upon Jesus's own words that are found in Matthew 16 where He states that He would build His church and the gates of Hades would not overpower it. How should knowing this affect the way we understand the church? I would suggest that this means that we allow for the church to be exactly as Jesus designed for it to be. This lesson looks at the Biblical characteristics of the church as Christ designed it and some violations of His design.
