Towards the end of the first letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul addresses wicked practice of some men who sought to be engaged in the work of ministry simply because they saw it as a means to make monetary gains. Paul uses this admonition as a springboard to write about the issues that arise when the love of money enters into the hearts of men. This lesson considers four griefs that come when men desire to be rich, and then it considers Paul's solutions to overcoming these awful griefs.
