In I Peter 5:8, the Apostle Peter warns the recipients of his letter that they must remain sober-minded and alert if they want to be able to resist the attacks of the devil. He desires to devour them as a lion would its prey, so we, as disciples, must remain vigilant and aware of the dangers that are around us. This demands that we remain clear in our thoughts and actions. The devil knows our need for sobreity which is why he seeks to cause us to lose our sobriety in any way that he can. This lesson looks at our need for sobriety, substances and conditions that can cause us to lose our sobriety, the devils desires for our insobriety, and a few ways in which we can help those who struggle in this way.
