The Suffering King

We would expect for those who are kings to only ever experience the best of the best in every respect. They would have the best food, clothing, and shelter, and they would have it all at the moment they ask for it. They would receive what we might refer to as the "royal treatment." However our King Jesus received no such things when He arrived on this earth. In fact, our King could easily be characterized by as the Suffering King because of everything that He was willing to endure on our behalf. This lesson looks at the sufferings of Jesus and the reasons for which He was willing to endure such things. The hope is that our understanding of such things will move us to be more greatly motivated to give everything of ourselves for the one who first gave up everything for us.
