No one can read the entirety of Scripture and come away with any thought other than the fact that the God of heaven is an extremely patience God who is full of mercy, compassion, and lovingkindness. He daily extends mercy to us and is patient with us in our many weaknesses. He even sent His only Son to die on a cross for the opporutnity for sinful man to be reconciled back to him. However, that doesn't mean that God does not exercise justice. It does not mean that He isn't willing to offer rebuke or chastisement. We can see this as being the case in Matthew 23 when Jesus brings to light the failings of the current Jewish leadership of the Scribes and Pharisees. This lesson looks at what made Jesus so angry in their attitude and behavior and some lessons that we can learn from their mistakes.
