Just as there were some who distorted the the pure Gospel of Jesus in the church in Galatia in the first century, so are there some who distort pure discipleship of Jesus in the 21st century. Where Jesus demands that we take up our cross and follow Him, some today say that we just need to be a part of a local church and be in attendance on at least a semi-regular basis. This lesson looks at this type of distorted view of discipleship, which is termed "Churchianity", in order to highlight its issues and stress the importance of true discipleship from Romans 12:1,2.
