If you have ever read any of the writings of Paul, then you fully understand what Peter meant when he said that Paul wrote some things that were difficult to understand. However, Paul wasn't the only person in Scripture who had it said of them that he was speaking difficult things. In John 6:60, the disciples of Jesus say this very thing, "This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it." Over the next few months, we will periodically consider some of the difficult sayings of Jesus. This lesson sets the tone for those studies with some things that will be good for us to keep in mind when considering such teachings of Jesus.
