The message often preached by Jesus and His Apostles was simply, "repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" This message was the means by which others would know what it was that God desired of them, and yet how much could these thirteen men do by themselves? It is no wonder then that Jesus would often speak of His disciples being the salt and light of the earth, and it is no wonder that Jesus would speak parables concerning the sowing of the word of God and how the recipients would react. This lesson focuses on that parable of Jesus that He speaks about the sower sowing his seed among the different types of soil, and four key lessons that we should take away from it.
